  55.   into the Microsoft Management Console. If you have selected
  56.   this integration during setup, Microsoft Management Console
  57.   1.2 or higher is required to use O&O Defrag.

  59. * You need Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or higher for
  60.   correct functioning of O&O Defrag. In addition, it is
  61.   required for diplaying the on-line help. This is due to
  62.   the nature of the new, compiled HTML help, which only can be
  63.   displayed when certain library files of Internet Explorer
  64.   are present.

  66. * To uninstall O&O Defrag, you may remove the entry "O&O
  67.   Defrag Professional Edition" or "O&O Defrag Server Edition"
  68.   using "Add/Remove Software" from the control panel.

  112.   STEALTH method has a significantly lower requirement
  113.   regarding system resources and free space on a volume.

  116.   COMPLETE/Date, as present in release 3.5, has been split
  117.   into two different defragmentation methods:

  122.   COMPLETE/Date Modification is similar to that of release 3.5:
  123.   files are sorted by the date of their most recent
  124.   modification. The method COMPLETE/Date Access re-orders files
  125.   by their most recent access time. This method improves
  126.   access to files that are recently used in a read-only manner.

  128. * New "O&O Activity Guard Pro"
  129.   "O&O Activity Guard Pro" significantly improves the file
  130.   defragmentation in the background. The resource usage has
  131.   been optimized again and can now be adjusted in the range
  132.   of 0-100% hard disk load, thus the user is less disturbed
  133.   during his daily work.

  135. * Automatic defragmentation of exclusively locked files
  136.   Exclusively locked files can now be automatically added to
  137.   boot-time defragmentation without user interaction.

  139. * Installation without Microsoft Management Console by choice
  140.   Now, if specified by the user, installation without the MMC

  143. * Control from command line interface
  144.   O&O Defrag is now shipped with a new command line utility,
  145.   that enables to control the defragmentation on a local system
  146.   without the graphical user interface, e.g. out of batch
  147.   files.

  149. * Automatic defragmentation in the background
  150.   For each volume, a fragmentation threshold and an analysis
  151.   interval can be specified, so that when a user-specified
  152.   fragmentation ratio is reached, the background
  153.   defragmentation of a volume is launched. Combined with O&O
  154.   ActivityGuard Pro, the computer can be permanently kept on
  155.   a constant performance level without disturbing the user in
  156.   his daily work.

  158. * User-definable duration of analysis data
  159.   Now, the duration of analysis/ClusterView data kept in memory
  160.   by the agent can be defined by the user. Particularly on
  161.   large volumes a longer duration is often needed in
  162.   comparison to the default of release 3.5 (approx. 12 min).

  164. * Enhanced output during the boot-time defragmentation
  165.   The output in the boot-time screen of Windows NT/2000/XP has
  166.   been significantly extended:

  168.     + File names are being displayed
  169.         + improved output of status/error messages

  171.   In addition, a detailed logfile in %systemroot%\system32 is
  172.   being generated what enables a latter diagnosis ("OODBS.LOG")

  174. * The defragmentation of MFT can be skipped
  175.   The whole boot-time defragmentation and just the
  176.   defragmentation of the MFT can be skipped by pressing a key.
